Go For Natural!
Source for Being is on a mission for so many things, to ignite the power of creative beauty and spread a message that aligns with the Fruits of the Spirit, so that we can begin to experience a shift in culture as we know it, and get out of toxic negativity.
There's a marketplace toxicity also, and we need to get back to basics and purity. That's why we're doing two specific things. 1) we're fostering slow-fashion, a less-is-more with a worth-the-wait attitude, and 2) focusing on using natural fabrics in our apparel design and production.
As more and more information comes out into the open and people wake up to the realities of what has been done by design to cause great harm to our health and reproduction, we aim to provide beautiful apparel fit for the health conscience consumer.
Let's talk about fabrics for a moment.

"Polyester Isn't Just Fabric...It's A Powerful Endocrine Disruptor To Men & Women."
Wow. Good to know, right? Polyester & other toxic synthetic fabrics are derived from petroleum!! They disrupt hormones by causing low estrogen & progesterone in females & low testosterone in males. Studies show that the electrostatic qualities of petroleum derived synthetic fabrics changes the human body in a negative way.
Top 5 Petroleum Fabrics To Avoid...
1) Polyester is a manufactured synthetic fiber that is derived from petroleum & sheds microplastics. It contains antimony, a highly toxic substance that has detrimental effects on the heart, lungs, liver & skin.
2) Acrylic can be dangerous because it is made from a flammable, colorless liquid called polymer polyacrylonitrile, which is also a known carcinogen.
3) Nylon, one of the most widely used fibers manufactured in the US, is a synthetic material made from coal & petroleum that contains heavy metals Arsenic, Chromium, Antimony & Lead.
4) Acetate is a fiber made from wood pulp. It goes through significant chemical processing that uses toxic chemicals like acetic anhydride & acetone. These fabrics are treated with formaldehyde resins which makes the fabrics resistant to wrinkles, but it makes them even more toxic.
5) Spandex is made from harmful chemical substances like polyurethane, and is a known carcinogen.
So as we focus our eyes and efforts on a healthier and better future, we need to be mindful of what we are wearing on our bodies and clothing our families with. It's best to wear clothing created from fabrics that are healthy and that can even be healing, such as 100% linen.
Here is a list of fabrics that you will feel good wearing...
Organic cotton: a natural fabric grown without harmful pesticides & fertilizers- comfortable & skin friendly.
Linen: a strong fiber made from flax that has a unique texture & good airflow - helps to keep you cool in hot weather.
Wool: sourced from sheep, a natural insulator that provides warmth in cold climates - is naturally water-resistant, odor-resistant & biodegradable.
Bamboo: comes from the fast-growing bamboo plant - great at wicking moisture, so it keeps you cool & dry, and fights odors due to its natural antimicrobial properties.
Tencel, Silk, and other less common fabrics such as Lotus Silk, made from the lotus flower, and fabrics made from natural fibers such as orange, banana, and eucalyptus are also great options for your clothing.
Protect your brain and your body, and stay away from endocrine and electric/frequency disruptors. If we stop buying clothing made with these harmful fabrics, they'll have to stop making them, eventually. Be part of the change.
